The Psyttalia Outfall is a part of the broader project of the transportation, treatment and disposal of the Greater Athens Area Sewage.

It consists of three submarine outfall pipelines which convey the treated sewage to the disposal marine area. The project consists of two deep diffusion pipelines of 1,900 m length each, 2.95 m diameter, laid at 63 m. of sea depth.

One short emergency outfall of 400 m length, 2,950 m diameter, laid at –44m sea depth.

The pipelines were cast in lengths up to 9 m long, and were pre-stressed into 72 m long sections.
